We know that as long as our so-called leadership does not provide our majority good governance -one of the primary reasons for the existence of government- then the current socioeconomic predicament will continue.

Although I personally believe that only a nationalist revolution can offer the opportunity to implement the needed radical changes, it is not time; it will be irresponsible.

Our first and urgent task is for us to learn about ourselves as Filipinos, our peoples' history, how we got to where our country and people are: and why we have to unite and act together as a people, a nation.

It is only with the understanding "what's really going on," can we also inform our impoverished majority of the same, thus create real and strong pressure for whoever are in government to sincerely act and work hard for the common good preferably peacefully; and if unheeded, to resort to forceful overthrow of the same.

Only a truly informed and nationalistic people can identify and ensure truly nationalistic leadership(not be misled by pretenders and fall into a "personality cult"), prevent and minimize revolutionary violence because an informed, nationalistic people know the reasons for a nationalist revolution; should a need for a bloody revolution ever come.

http://thefilipinomind.blogspot.com/2005/12/bloody-revolution.htmlBert M. I know how it feels to work as a OFW, Im one of them.
Even having a job in the Philippines will keep one hard to survive. The government is selling local employment as hotcakes (dalawa singko) in order to attract foreign investors. I remember during Ramos regime, the government is bragging cheap labors in the Philippines in front of foreign businessmen. I knew it because our company president (a Japanese) back then attended one of Ramos' business meeting with them. What can we say "kaawa-awang mga Pilipino". All the government can do is to console by pronouncing them (at least the OFW's) "MGA BAGONG BAYANI". Every OFW's knew "INUUTO O NILOLOKO" lang sila ng gobyerno everytime they come home as "BALIKBAYAN".
Yes indeed at least the OFW's are "bagong bayani" because they are the SAVIOR of the sinking Philippines' "BAPOR TABO" economy. And from the office of the President down are like fatted calf milking the remittances of OFW's.
Anyway, it's going to be the way of life now for the Filipinos for as long as the politics is immature like we have these days. SWEAT, BLOOD & TEARS of our "KABABAYANS" out there in almost 4 corners of the earth (I'm one of them) are keeping the Philippine economy.
Who is to blame for this trend? Yes, every decent Filipino would say it's the leadership of the land. The Philippine government could not provide a good working environment for business & enterprise. Peace and stability are foremost to a good working environment. Thanks to Philippine politics.

Regards,
ArielAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
